How much do you spend on a bra?

When I need a new bra, I go to a big department store and try on everything until I find a model that matches what bra fitters are supposedly looking for.

In my 40s, I had to shift to underwire bras. I hated them before. I did find a couple Bali models that fit well although I do think they exacerbate some skin problems I occasionally have (nothing makes the underwire curve "breathable" because it's metal). The family of Bali bras is called "One Smooth U". When I find the model that works, I buy about a dozen. Mail order from Hanes is as cheap or cheaper than department stores. So about $30 ea.

I am petite (5'2) and my biggest issue is finding bras designed so the shoulder straps are closer together so they don't slip off the curve of my shoulder.

None of the more expensive department store brands have ever fit (Natori, etc.).

Have you tried on bras that are made for petites, like Pepper and The Little Bra Company?

at all (plus decent comfort!) I've found that I have to pay $$.
I scour the internet to find them cheaper and generally only have 2 functional bras at any given time.
Are you similar?

Yes and those new DTC bra companies don’t work at all.

I think the most I have paid is around $30 per bra, and I'm a 32E/34DD.

Some examples:

Around $50? I’m a 34b and get most of my everyday bras from Soma. I prefer the wireless styles.

I have always been a DD or larger and I always pay $60+ for bras. Same with swimwear. Them's the breaks.

My people are here! I buy 2 black and 2 nude per year and rotate them carefully so they don’t wear out. They’re still no match for my 34DDD/DDDDs. I spent $80-90ish each.

I have no words for these $25/34B people.

We won’t even talk about sports bras. Ugh.

$75-100. I’m a 32 E and I need good support. When I was younger ( and smaller!) I wore whatever.
