Congrats to the 2027's who already committed to D1 from local clubs...

You would have us believe that a school with terrible teachers and one with amazing teachers would yield the exact same outcomes, all else being equal?

Of course not. You are making a straw man argument. That’s not what anyone is saying.

For two basically similar schools, the student would do just as well at either. Just like in the soccer case, any ECNL club’s first team would have good enough professional coaching where they are basically similar and a player could do just as well with any of them.

I don’t care how good a player is if the team around them is awful. You can’t get recruited if you don’t touch the ball. Also a lot of these commits benefit from having great players getting them the ball as well. It works both ways.

Just because you play on VDA or Richmond and make a D1 team doesn’t guarantee anything. Quite a few of BP’s previous players have failed in major ways on the next level and at the same time, some of the other players that didn’t get accolades with BP have gone on to excel. It’s a mixed bag on the next level for every DD.

Assuming facts not in evidence.

It's not a given at all that the quality of coaching for the first teams at ECNL clubs is uniform. Why would you conclude that?

These aren’t exactly “BP’s players”. Some of the 2027 players at VDA will never have played for BP and some will have for a year. Despite DCUM theories, there aren’t that many “Bp players” at VDA.

"Just because you play on VDA or Richmond and make a D1 team doesn’t guarantee anything." Of course nothing is guaranteed, but this is the last best opportunity to play high level soccer for 99.9% of girls. I don't see how this can be seen as anything but success.

Cant wait to see them play kickball at the next level.

Blatant parental jealousy alert.

I mean, both of you aren’t wrong…

"Kick the ball Jenny" "Run Jenny", "Get back Jenny". Great coaching LOL. Can you hear what these coaches are screaming to the players. Joystick much? team has no IQ which is why they get outplayed when their physical style matches up against teams that know how to play. That why ML is appearing more on the sidelines now. They dont know what to do when sending long balls from all over the field to the top of the 18 doesnt work. Give it to the guy for being a great recruiter of talent to add to his stable of great kick ballers. Basically get the ball forward and a couple talented legit players will do the rest. Dont forget to kick the ball out of bounds or just blast it up field if you get it anywhere near our goal.

Have ML telling you what to do every single minute.

Interesting back and forth on things...have some familiarity with both RU and VDA from having watched them play over the years...

The young women that have committed from both clubs have worked extremely hard to get to that point and it's something for them, their families and their clubs to be proud of regardless if they played at the club since U-Littles or joined within the last year.

It's still an extremely long road ahead - two more years left of club play and then off to college. Much can change in that time and it's important for the young women to continue to work at the same rate that they have to get to this point...

It is great to see though and here's to continued success.

Richmond ‘27 already has 5 P4 commits and an Ivy.

Congrats. Let me ask you this, how does a team with 2 National team players and 5+ many more P4 commits not make it out of their bracket in San Diego?

It's not uniform. But all are above the threshold and "good enough" to get a talented player where they are capable of being. The facts bear this out as all of the local ECNL clubs have had top commits over the years. Obviously some have had more than others but that's because they are better at recruiting the top players to their clubs. There is no magic coaching formula that any of these clubs or coaches have to turn rocks into diamonds. The game is to collect the most diamonds to your club.

You could ask that same question to a lot of teams. What’s your problem with this team?

This isn’t VDA 09. What’re you watching? Why are you so bitter?

ML doesn’t appear on the sidelines. He coaches two teams. He’s around all the time because he has a coach in the club. He’s always on the sidelines because that’s where he’s supposed to be.
