I'm guessing your bladder isn't the only part of you that's all dried up. |

| My daughter and I stopped at the Florence SC Buc-ees on a road trip to FL. Never again. It was a zoo. Bathroom was clean, but the lines for everything were so long -- at 2:30 in the afternoon. It wasn't even lunch time! We got back in the car and drove down the road to another gas station and grabbed snacks there. |
|
I live about 15 min away from the new Buc-ee's and I have zero desire to go there. I have seen LOTS of acquaintances posting on fb about driving 1 hour each way to go there.
If you do happen to be near there, I DO recommend stopping by the Green Valley Bookfair. It's about another 5 min down the road off of the same I-81 exit and is terrific. |
| Also, Klines for ice cream and the Fashion Gallery for “stuff.” |
| Buc-cees has that same nasty smoky smell that Cracker Barrel has. And similar junk for sale. |

Are local businesses posting here?
Nobody is venturing to far flung places off the interstate for books, fruit, or ice cream during a road trip. People need a clean restroom, and some people also want a cold drink and snack. |
|
And gas.
Buccees figured out what people need during a road trip and they capitalized on it: gas, clean restrooms, and snacks. The fact they can also turn it into a shopping destination for some people is surprising, but given the salaries they pay staff, apparently it’s working. |

Buccees is growing out of its concept.
When they first opened, it was like a roadway wonderland - cheap gas and pumps always available, impeccably clean bathrooms, plenty of parking, good eats that were fresh and tasty, and plenty of snacks and other items you may want. Now? They are incredibly overcrowded. People leave their cars at the pumps because parking lots are full, which leaves you waiting to fill up your tank. There are literally traffic jams and grid-lock of people waiting to fill up tanks, while others leave their cars at the pump to shop, eat, etc. for a half-hour or more inside. They need to institute a policy of pulling away and parking your vehicle after fill-up. The bathrooms have lines because there are so many people and the employees are looking frazzled and beaten-down with trying to keep them clean and aren't successful at doing so. The hoards of people are astounding at any time of the day we've been there. I don't know what they are like very late at night or very early in the morning but we now avoid Buccees as it's just too much of a hassle and way too overcrowded. |
