If you're a man and you're not wearing a swim shirt, what are we even doing here?

I’m a woman but I find sleeves are considerably hotter if I’m dry but also considerably colder if I’m wet so what I’m wearing is a lot about the weather and my plans.

Very hot day and playing in the surf? Sleeves.

Playing with my kid in the pool? Only if it’s 95. Our pool is cold.

Sounds like you haven’t been around American pools enough. If you saw how gross 99% of the men look, you too would be begging for them to wear shirts.

+1. Nothing anyone wants to look at 99% of the time.

A lot of US women could use some covering up as well.

Bruh, you can't be hanging on the edge of a gnarly wave while wearing a Tshirt bro!

A wet Tshirt on a man is never flattering.

It’s not because of you have visible abs, and a nice wicking shirt will keep you cooler.

Shirtless should not be considered polite for either gender

Dh is a runner so I can answer. He gets bloody or chafed nipples. He wears bandaids over them for races but that’s not great for daily wear since it pulls hair when you take them off. Also said he gets hotter in a shirt and it just feels better shirtless. He is super unselfconscious. He’s not trying to show off or impress other people.

He looks great shirtless though so I can’t imagine there’s a soul alive who is offended by it.

Agreed but they are covered up. I’m so glad that there’s more options now for obese women. My mom and relatives never would go in pools but I’m sure they would in the new swim dresses.

I will say that people up here in VA are always covered up. In Florida no one wears swim shirts. Not sure why either because there’s a higher chance of a burn there.

I really couldn’t care less what men wear. Or women. Do what you want!

I try to stay out of the sun as much as possible and hate the beach.

People like you and your answers on these threads always fascinate me.

Why wander into a conversation about what people do, to declare "I don't care what people do!"

I mean, I don't really care what other people do but I'm trying to have a conversation with people about things in our lives... if you want to get really serious, the rates of skin cancer is a problem we all face, and if you look at a place like Australia, which used to be a country obsessed with tanning that is now a country obsessed with skin health, you could argue we should all care... but anyway... you're welcome here, but I do wonder what you're doing.

Hush up! You trying to ruin the last of the young eye candy for all women?

OP, get over yourself. As long as some has covered up their private areas, they should wear what they feel comfortable in. My DH is in good shape but is not a hairless bodybuilder. Sometimes he wears a rash guard, sometimes not. I don't care.

If you write this about women, people would be rightfully offended by how shaming and judgmental it is.

I made him a couple waxing appointments, but then he just decided it was easier if he bought an electric shaver and had me do it. It is… not romantic.

Time to make him some laser hair removal appointments.

Lasers couldn't deal with what I've got.

One time I had to go to the emergency room and they had to shave my chest to attach the monitors and I literally broke the razor. They had to go find the bathroom kit they keep for overnight doctors with a high-end razor to finish the job. They thought it was super hilarious.
You sound like you married a gorilla.

I don't mind a woman jogging in a sports bra, but fail to see the point of a shirtless man.

But seriously, both should invest in a lightweight, wicking, SPF-enhanced top.

I like seeing a fit man jogging without a shirt - older lady here walking her dog.

My teen son wears one often because he’s athletic and out all day swimming, playing beach volleyball etc. he actually doesn’t burn much and is in good shape but it just makes sense if you’re gojng to be out for hours. He has a hoodie one he likes because it even covers back of his neck.
