You can sometimes find interesting bottles at the DC Costco. But then again, my go-to is Old Granddad 114, so not much of a connoisseur.

The barley that is used is roasted (prior to use) with peat. Peat has been burned as a fuel in parts of Scotland for centuries. The water used to create the whisky runs through peaty creek beds. It’s not smoky, it’s peaty. Look it up, or visit a distillery in Scotland. |
