Divisionals

D1 and D2 teams have more depth. It’s akin to (teen OP, this means “similar to”) why teams like Ohio State, ‘Bama, and Georgia have the most overall NFL players, but the best players ever come out of schools like Mississippi Valley State. One of the best NVSL girls who holds multiple records is in D16. But you can see the depth of D1 and D2 by looking at the numbers in the top 18:
13-14 Girls IM: 9/18 swimmers are in D1 or D2
13-14 Girls Fly: 7/18 are in D1 or D2
13-14 Girls Breast: 7/18 are in D1 or D2
13-14 Girls Back: 7/18 are in D1 or D2
13-14 Girls Free: 6/18 are in D1 or D2

In 9-10 Girls, half (9/18) of 50 Free and 50 Back all stars are in D1 or D2. 7/18 of the 9-10 Girls Breaststroke all stars are from D1 or D2, and 8/18 of the 9-10 Girls Fly all stars are from D1 or D2. 6/18 of the 10U Girls IM all stars are from D1 or D2.

And 3 of the top 18 13-14 girls free are in D13. It doesn't matter where you swim, people!

Precisely the point. Teams are in summer league divisions based on size/depth across age groups that lead to points, in the same way some college football teams put more athletes into the NFL due to sheer size/depth. (The difference being, of course, that summer league teams don’t recruit swimmers to their team in the way that college programs use NIL, the portal, and scholarships to recruit players.) Great swimmers (and great football players) can come from anywhere, just like any great athlete.

If they didn’t go to divisionals because they were at age group champs meet, they wouldn’t have taken the top spots anyway because they’re swimming at the age group meet and aren’t at the level of the top spots. At least for 15-18 age group.

15-18 year olds don’t attend the **14U** PV Age Group Champs meet, and there were no events on Saturday anyway.

oh, so then all of the 15-18 D1 swimmers would have been at divisionals, and none were top seeds.

No, many kids just don’t care to go to all stars and therefore let others take the divisionals slots.

With PVS Champs the same weekend, I saw many of the top 14&U swimmers skipping their usual full suite of events during Divisionals to save their energy for Sunday. Divisionals don't matter for next year's division assignments, and if they do want to swim IAS, they only swim what they need to guarantee it.

NVSL? I’m confused by “full suite of events”. NVSL Divisionals is only 2 events to begin with. Are you suggesting some PVS LC champs swimmers just did 1 instead of 2?
