How many grocery stores do you shop at?

Whole Foods for most things
Safeway for a few teen things (chips, etc)
BJs once a month

Costco, Sam’s, Walmart delivery only, Trader Joe’s, Aldi, lidl, hmart, Asian mart,Whole Foods, Indian/paki/nepali store, amazon.

Most often- Aldi, Sam’s, Walmart delivery

Frustrating that stores don’t carry the same products, I have to go to different places.

A chaotic combination of Costco, Walmart, Aldi, Whole Foods, Safeway, Wegman’s, and Trader Joe’s. It really depends on my mood and what I’m buying.

I do most of my grocery shopping at my neighborhood Giant. I go to Costco every 2-4 months, when I’m running low on households products (toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, trash bags, dishwasher detergent), and I buy a few groceries at that time, but a limited amount because I don’t have space capacity for many giant sized items. I shop at Trader Joe’s when I have free time and I’m jonesing for items that are only sold there. I may pick up a few regular grocery items while I’m in there to save myself a trip to Giant. I occasionally buy specialty breads at Trader Joe’s, but I don’t visit a bakery because I’m cheap and not that picky. I don’t go to the butcher because I’m unlikely to be cooking high end cuts of meat. I have pet food delivered by Chewy. I don’t shop at farmers markets because I prioritize doing other things during the weekend.

Can you get your husband to take over some of these stops?

I just go to whatever place is closest to me when I am running other errands. Dry cleaner pickup? Safeway near there. Coffee with friends? TJ's near there.

I don't like nor have the space to buy an entire week's worth of groceries at a time.

Whole Foods only. I used to go to Safeway to get like tide, paper towels, dog food and such and now I just order that stuff from Amazon.

I’ll go to a seafood place or some of the places at Union market for special occasions. And the farmers market sometimes.

Usually Harris Teeter weekly, as well as a weekly CSA vegetable pickup.

I might go to a local organic grocery store like Roots or MOMs once or twice a month. And Costco once a month.

I don’t worry about buying canned beans at Whole Foods because even if they’re more expensive, the amount saved is still less than my time and gas.

The stuff that makes my Whole Foods higher is meat, prepared food, and unusual produce. But those things are better.

It’s been my experience that Whole Foods and Safeway have the same price for the same product. Like a box of cheddar bunnies will be the same. But Safeway might have a cheaper version.

That is completely insane especially for a family with kids and two working parents. I don’t know anyone who does anything like that. I go to or Instacart Harris Teeter or Wegmans once a week and try to make that it. I give huge tips on Instacart and often have a good experience.

About once a month I have to pick up extras.

Four, but I rotate weekly. Trader Joes's one week, Costco the next, etc.

Wegman’s and Harris Teeter once a week.

PetSmart 1-2 times/month.

Safeway if I run out of something.

Me again. Life is full of trade offs. It boggles my mind that someone who is already working 40 hours a week is going to sacrifice 40 minutes a week for better bread and then a similar amount for better fruit. I love good food too but I just can’t imagine this.

Costco 1x per month
Aldi 1x or 2x per week
Bakery 2x per month

Instacart is insanely expensive. Walmart has quick delivery.

Surely you can combine some of these. Most larger farmers markets have booths selling breads. You can combine the produce and bread to one stop. Or smaller non chain grocery stores/natural food stores often sell breads made locally.
