There are lots of reasons why a baby can struggle to feed. Tongue tie is one of them and definitely worth investigating, but it doesn’t “have to be” a tie. It could be other things.

We were told to use the Dr. Browns bottles because less gas. We have tried multiple bottles though with the same results. Getting her to take 2-3oz a feed is tough! Very sleepy girl who likes to fall asleep mid feed.


As a parent whose kid had reflux, small feeds was an early sign. My kid didn't get to three ounces at a feeding for months. For us the answer was more frequent feedings. Have you tried that?
