Women were washing their hair pretty much every day then. (That started in the 70s.) In fact, hair that was flat instead of full and big was thought to look, and actually be, dirty. Years ago, when my daughter and her friends started straightening their hair, I wondered why they wanted their hair to look flat, and thus, dirty. Styles change. It wouldn’t be surprising if big hair becomes a thing again in our lifetimes. |

Straight hair is the norm in humans. Curly/frizzy is the outlier, due to the hair being misshapen and not cylindrical but having flat sides. |
