I’m also wondering about his wife, also an AACPS employee, standing by him this entire time. It seems like she would understand that this was unacceptable behavior, even if it was not to a criminal degree.

What’s to wonder? He said it didn’t happen, not that he did something that he felt wasn’t criminal. He denied all the allegations so what behavior would have been unacceptable?

There were numerous (20?) allegations from children across various grades so I would imagine there has to be some level of truth to the allegations.

It was 8 across two grades and only 5 went forward. Some even recanted. You know what they say about assuming 😏

In my daughter's 3rd grade class someone had the brilliant idea to have the students sign a petition to get a teacher fired for being too strict. Needless to say, it didn't work. I agree there needs to be more evidence than broken sentences on an iPad written by 3rd graders. One of the kids needed to seriously report it to their parents or an authority first.

If you go through Severna Park, there are tons of the pink We Believe Our Girls signs everywhere. I don’t know how he can reasonably expect to return to AACPS or have his family continue living there.

Most? This isn't a true statement at all. Of course those trying to help can cause harm in some circumstances. But many children never tell anyone and have deep shame and are irrevocably harmed. That's the perpetrator's fault, and no one else's.

For those saying that this campaign was led by the parents, I don’t think any reasonable parent would put their daughter through this trial voluntarily.

I don’t disagree. At the end of the day these parents aren’t reasonable. Whether it comes from incompetence or malice, I couldn’t say, but what they did when questioning their kids and are now doing with this brand goes against everything we know about best practices for potential victims in sexual assault cases.

Can you summarize?

In the Severna Park Facebook group, there are now reports of the pink signs being taken down by county employees since I guess you can report the signs to be taken down.

Yes, everyone is leaving SP because a teacher who no longer works there was accused of a crime.

There most definitely have been people who have left Severna Park schools or have moved to private schools because of this. I’m not saying it’s a significant amount or that I agree, but I do know some people have left SP schools because of this.
