OP. Clarifying some things: we had dinner at a picnic table on the far end of the pool deck, on the side perpendicular to we hear our chaises were. The towel was on a railing just behind our clearly occupied chaises. It’s the culture at our pool to hang your towel to try along that railing- it’s not a spot where it would be considered abandoned or lost.

Vent over. Teach your idiot boys with low executive functioning skills to pack a towel or air dry, and if you find a towel at your house that isn’t yours, maybe question how it got there.
