Both of my kids are strong math students but I always have them take a math prep course for their upcoming year. We’ve taken these prep courses at Russian School of Math for the last few summers: https://www.mathschool.com/locations/north-bethesda/schedule.
I think going 11/12 weeks with limited math is a disservice to students. So we’ve always incorporated summer math prep classes as a way to stay prepped and strong going in to the Fall curriculum. Apparently a lot of other MoCo families agree because a lot of the summer prep classes at RSM North Bethesda and RSM Chevy Chase are full. It’s important to note that RSM classes are likely not a good fit for students who struggle with math (but you can talk to the owner to discuss if it would be a good fit, etc). The curriculum can feel intense, especially condensed over ~6 weeks. |
