The bio/adopted comment was weird because it wasn’t relevant to the conversation.
My kid is adopted and I don’t call her my adopted daughter in real life or on dcum. I say DD. |
My child has had a great two years at Pyle so far. I guess we’ll see what 8th grade is like. |
You cannot even troll properly. |
LOL, way to go troll. No one is believing you. |
I think its understandable to think middle school is bad, probably because kids go through puberty around that age range and because kids change the way they behave around this time.
Depending on what cluster you go to in MCPS, you’ll probably be with more new people or almost the same group of classmates from elementary school. My DS and DD went to Redland MS part of Magruder cluster and it was nice. Redland is not amazing but it was a decent experience. I dint think parents should be extremely worried or pushy about their kids when they start MS. It gets better (or worse) once your kid begins high school, as long as they’re open to meet and socialize with new people. |
Yes, the middle schools suck. |
The general consensus does appear to be that most MCPS middle schools do suck. I've only experienced the one with my kids and unfortunately, it conforms with that sentiment. |
Middle school sucks Everywhere |
All of MCPS is a disaster. |
Disagree. Just look at this thread. |
We were not impressed and left. |
Years ago some were just 7-8, but as in 30 years ago. Most if not all are 6-8th. |
Around USA, middle school is the weakest link. It is 3 crucial years of wasted opportunity that will impact your child's future and make them ill-prepared for HS and college.
This is the time that parents need to supplement, accelerate and enrich to their max capacity. Also, start putting together a team that supports your child. |
+1 same everything. |
30 years ago, MS were 6-8th in MCPS. |
