I don’t like Lateef, but he seems to be one of the only candidates that respects local control over land use decisions. Aaron Rouse seems like the second choice option if you care about local control. |
I’m for Lateef, and I hope he continues in local politics, if he doesn’t make it, here’s another thing I liked besides “no to the casino” : “banning hedge funds and equity firms from buying single-family homes, offering tax relief for primary residence expenses beyond mortgage interest deductions”. OTOH - I hope the LG is not going to Batista, because he wants to impose much higher taxes on anyone making above 100K… this is totally out of touch. ~110K with kids in NoVA is poverty level, and qualifies your family for free lunch and scores of other assistance. Living is so expensive here. There are probably more democrats of the 6 quoted who are similarly wanting to squeeze the upper to lower middle class, I didn’t read all the interviews yet…. Thanks for posting, OP. |
Hashimi won. Dems never learn from their previous campaign mistakes ugh. Someone who is a social justice warrior, that wants to raise taxes and force "high density: housing in the suburbs will have trouble winning in Virginia. I would not be surprised if Reid wins. Some moderates will have a hard time believing that Reid is conservative nutjob when he is a gay man who has a black boyfriend. His personal characteristics will make some people think he is not crazy and is actually just campaigning this way to get votes from the base of his political party. |
| She supports a Tysons casino. I didn’t vote for her in the primary and unless polling shows the race against Reid to be w/n the margin of error, I won’t consider voting for her in the general election. |
