PSA: Contracts are still being DOGEd

I am personally hoping that once the political get in more fully — the ADSes and the like — they’ll want to actually do something other than slash and burn. Guess what? That takes people and contracts to do.

It's going to be a very interesting hurricane season. They have completely devastated FEMA's ability to do much of anything.

NOAA too- the Commerce secretary is personally reviewing all NOAA contracts and they aren't getting done. A LOT of NOAA staff are actually contractos and they're getting furloughed because the contracts aren't getting renewed.

That really sucks. Not surprising. It’s so weird as Walter reed keeps adding space and they have so many empty spaces. No staff.

The research on my kids medical condition is stopping.

Waiting over six months for someone to fix a problem with our health insurance (retired military) and i guess everyone doged there too so no one to help us.

Can't wait to see where we are in year.

And now the side of "less government" is selling all our personal data to Palantir.

Where are the real republicans. Just a bunch of MAGA fools now

We called Tricare the other day and the recording said that the wait for an agent was over an hour and a half and "you might want to call back on another day." Yes, I have a medical condition and just moved and am calling about a referral but sure, I'll just "call back another day." I couldn't believe it!

We were able to get through in around 5 minutes last week.

Tricare is funny in that way and has been for many years. You call at one time and wait an hour plus like I had to last October. You call an hour later and get through in five minutes.

This tricare issue predates trump. It has been like this since at least obama, through multiple presidents.

Blaming trump for tricare phone delays is blatantly dishonest.

You don’t get to fire thousands of people on the basis that the government is overstaffed and the avoid blame when services are bad. Sorry!

A 21 years old DOGE, UVA grad, showed up at my agency two weeks ago. Expect a bloodbath to happen soon.

Its at its all time worst right now. They lost a lot of staff due to the cuts and cannot replace them due to hiring freezes.

No, it is not worse now. It is just status quo.

Did you recently PCS into the area? Tricare in this area is always a mess.

You don't understand tricare.

The current situation is normal tricare, especially for retirees.

There are lots of places to direct your wrath towards the current cuts. Tricare isn't one of them.

Are there DOGE jobs being advertised, or are they all being plucked from only Musk-owned companies?

Well then Trumps decision to fire and run out lots of the people providing tricare services is particularly stupid then.

I just saw my client agency's line item budget - almost all of the explanations were 0 FTE cut but $X Million cut. Those cuts are contracts.

I don't think what you think is happening is actually happening at tricare.

Many of the support staff are contractors and they’ve been cut.

I had an appointment and the clinic called to schedule and said I canceled the appointment. I’ve been waiting months. They had nothing for another month and lied as they sent me a weird cancellation after out call.

It’s the worst it’s ever been. Enlisted retirees get terrible treatment and the lowest priority.
