This is exactly the type of statement necklace that is put of style now. Of course it doesn’t matter of the wearer likes it.

Simple silver necklace, silver watch and a tennis bracelet.

Statement necklaces are not popular right now, although I think a turquoise necklace might be nice.

That looks very old lady-ish.

Not to mention cheap and ugly!

I get it, OP. in your shoes, I would just conjure up in my mind something that I wanted, or a description of the kind of thing I wanted, and just plug that into Google and see what turns up. Sounds like it might be time to add some jewelry items to your next birthday gift wish list!

Omg not pearls it’s not 195O

Agree no pearls. I like the Maje necklace.

The OP couldn't have been clearer. She wants to look nice in a family photo. I love the malachite suggestion & will buy something similar for myself. Play nice.

And OP - have fun!

A lot of this depends on the style and neckline of OPs dress.

OP if you really want color, a scarf if the way to go. I don’t think the jewelry described here is going to give you the pop you are looking for.

I disagree, to me, this is pretty classic, and not the same as the oversized trendy, cheap necklaces from years ago.

Agree. First off, who cares if it's out of style.

Second if it's real stones, it will look classy and nice. This isn't some junk from Claire's.

The trend police are the worst and after all that effort to fit it, the results are just boring. OP wants to look nice at the event and I'm photos, a nice necklace can add that shimmer.
