Yes. Now he’s pardoning reality stars, rich tax evaders and embezzlers. He’s so frickin scattered. Trophy wives, Harvard bad, big golden dome anti-missile shield for the US- $175 billion (also not possible for long range large missiles and size of the US…and especially when you stop some of the brightest minds from coming to the US), Zelensky’s mouth, Canada 51st state, Gulf of America, Harvard bad, blah blah |
Halting all visa applications is literally the opposite of targeted. |
It’s only 3 kids of visas. Not all. |
A large portion. Visa applications have to be scheduled after receiving the I20 from the schools. And there is typically a long wait. June-Aug is the bulk of it. This new directive to whet social media accounts will slow things down considerably. |

So how can it NOT impact matriculation (and in turn, WLs)? |
I agree the courts will block this. But even so, how can all of this not have an effect? It’s not hard to imagine at least some (many?) international students will decide to study elsewhere (or take a gap year?) in an abundance of caution. |
| International students have been counseled to take a gap year just in case there is an issue. It is a sound strategy. |
Counseled by which school? |
By college consultants |
How do you know this? |
| If internationals are asked to take gap year, then next year admissions will be even harder… |
| it's like Covid. When there is uncertainty, better to take a gap year when more of the unknowns are sorted out. |
Yeah, the PP seems dense. |
Np. There's a new admissions podcast out this week that is encouraging international kids admitted to Harvard from the fall to make "backup" plans just to be safe. |
