Seriously and the families of injured LEO who tried their hardest to protect the capitol and uphold their oath....all to find out the President of the US was the creator and leader of it all. "you're special-go home we love you" I'm disgusted more every day.

“I’m a big fan of Ashli Babbitt,” the president said. “Ashli Babbitt was a really good person who was a big MAGA fan, Trump fan. And she was innocently standing there; they even say trying to sort of hold back the crowd. And a man did something to her that was unthinkable when he shot her. And I think it’s a disgrace. I’m going to look into that. I did not know that.”

Ashli Babbit was climbing through a broken window of the Capitol Building (broken by her fellow domestic terrorist protesters) with a big knife and being told to stay back from where Congress was sheltering in place. She was not innocent in any way
Does that justify a police officer to walk up to her and shoot her?

You have problems with reading comprehension. She and a 1000 other thugs were violent and broke the glass of the Capitol Building. The LEO shot to protect the lives of Congress. The same Republican congress who are sitting silently as Trump sh*** all over the 140 police who were killed or injured trying to protect their lives. Ashli Babbit was shot from a distance after disobeying repeated orders not to advance into a room with a police barricade. Instead they broke the glass and entered. She had a large knife on her body and if she had killed a congressman, Congress would be calling hearings calling the LEOs inadequate.

Cut grants for soup kitchens. Cut Medicaid.

But pay out 5mn$ to a violent thug who vandalized the Capitol and was going through a window broken by her violent fellow mobsters to enter an area was occupied by Congress Members. The officers are there to prevent any act of aggression before it happens. They are not to wait till after it happens.

Trump wants to give MAGA their own George Floyd. This is payback for the riots in 2020.

In a post 9/11 world, deadly force should have been used much sooner in a situation where mobs of people are storming the US Capitol Building, White House, or Pentagon.

How that many unvetted people were able to make it that deep into the building and that close to hundreds of our most prominent lawmakers is beyond me.

It's unlikely any of the perpetrators who took part in the security breach that day had bombs or other weaponry that could have brought the building down but we don't take that chance in the same way everyone goes through airport security even though only 1 in 5 billion passengers may have a bomb in their carryon.

Pardoning the J6 perpetrators and this potential wrongful death settlement payout are spits on the graves of all the brave souls who lost their lives to obtain and maintain our nation's sovereignty over the past 250 years. Disgusting

She was an unarmed woman who was shot by and incompetent Capital Police officer.
The police officer should have been properly investigated for the shooting of an unarmed person, but Nancy Pelosi and Merrick Garland saw to it that he wouldn't be held accountable.
This was the same officer who left a loaded gun in a bathroom a couple years earlier.

It’s a message to the country— “my” MAGAs are now a protected class.

It doesn’t matter if you’re unarmed when you’re part of a violent mob that includes people who are armed, and who have collectively crossed barriers, broken windows, engaged in combat with law enforcement, threatened to kill the VP, invaded parts of the Capital that are off limits, and are closing in on members of Congress before they’ve finished being evacuated to a secure location. Babbitt left the officers with no choice. She earned that bullet.

Why did we pay her family more than her life was worth?

This is perhaps one of the dumbest posts yet. I would have opened fire the moment the first person breached the steps of the Capitol. And guess what? J6 events would have ended quickly.

FYI, the officer was investigated properly. You don't know or forgot?

Was Chauvin convicted of state or federal charges?

Your tax dollars paying for settlements for many more January 6 domestic terrorists for being "victimized patriots". Donald Trump doesn't pay taxes, so it's not his money being wasted!

Lawyers close to Mr. Trump have also said they are preparing to sue the government on behalf of the rioters, claiming the rioters had been mistreated by federal agencies like the Justice Department and the Bureau of Prisons.

While the suit has not yet been filed, it could result in a settlement agreement not unlike the one reached between the Justice Department and Ms. Babbitt’s family.
