Warm feeling in one calf

Since it tends to only happen when I am walking or after I have been using my muscle (ie after I walk up steps) and there were no other red flags for a clot she doesn’t think that’s what it is.

She said I could go to the ER today if I want to be extra cautious, but she doesn’t think it’s an absolute emergency since it’s been happening for 5 days now and has not progressed so she ordered an ultrasound and I will go to a radiology place to get it done tomorrow. The radiology place could not squeeze me in today or would have gone sooner just to get it done. Will report back post-US tomorrow.

I don’t smoke and am not on hormonal birth control as an FYI (someone posted that) but do have a desk job where I sit for a couple hours at a time.

Will report back again.

OP I also have a desk job and sit for hours at a time. I had to set alarms/reminders to get up once an hour. Maybe it's just standing and going up and down on the balls of my feet five times before sitting back down while on a phone call or whatever, but standing makes a big difference.

Did you get the d-dimer blood test?

Thanks, I will email my doctor but can’t go to the ER tonight because my husband is traveling for work this week and I have no one to watch my kids.

That won’t matter if you have complications from the blood clot and end up in the ICU

Well she survived, since she wrote that post last night and went to her GP today and lived to post about it.

This is OP again, had an ultrasound earlier and all clear for a blot clot. At this point my doctor said to give it another week or two and if it’s not getting better or gets worse I could look to see a neurologist or orthopedic doctor.

I'm glad you don't have a blood clot! Good luck.
