I was coming to type this and I don’t even like plain boring white cake.

What does the Chantilly cake taste like?

Agree with those who said Wegman's white cake with buttercream frosting. I am not usually a cake fan but this was very different and good.

I entertained recently with WF individual tarts and desserts - the majority of them were completely flavorless. A real disappointment.

For the Wegman's cake, is this the "celebration" cake you can pre-order with a couple options (colors, size, flavors, sprinkles )? And by "white" you mean yellow cake?

The WF chantilly is actually white cake with white cream frosting and strawberries and blueberries just in the layer in between the cake. It's pretty when cut and really good.

I'd really love to find mini pastries assortment. WF is as close as I can find and they do not taste as good as they look.

Dolly's sin cake w/ vanilla haagen daz. It's always the first to go when we have dinner parties. I'd get something lighter to balance it out - maybe a tray of macaroons or a white cake from wegman's, or a fruit tart from balducci's.

None. They aren't good or "sought after" anymore. WF started using crappy ingredients and changed recipes, Wegmans has changed their recipes, particularly for the buttercream, and Balduccis was only popular with the 70+ year old crowd that can't taste anything anymore.

Full Sheet
1/2 Chocolate Cake & 1/2 Gold Cake
Whipped Cream

For everyone posting about “Randolfs”, if you are referring to the bakery in Arlington, it’s Randolph’s not Randolf’s

Wegmans has a chocolate raspberry cake that is to die for. It does not cost $100 but it does not feed a lot of people.

Oh please. The Balducci's Dolly Sin is a big hit on holidays and celebrations with those teens - 20- somethings having very active taste buds. You must just be a cheapskate.
