| Once or twice a week. I am willing to pay the fees in return for the convenience. I cook all the meals for my family and get burned out if I don’t get a night off for too many days in a row. |
|
Pizza on Fridays 2-3 times a month. Uber Eats for family dinner once every 2-3 months. Uber Eats for lunch every 2-3 months (paid for by gift cards from work).
Everything got too expensive over the past 4-5 years, groceries, dining out, and delivery. We rarely eat out anymore so delivery is a treat. |
| Never. I'm well-off, and I stay that way because I don't like throwing money out of the window. If I want food not cooked at home, I go pick it up or sit down at the restaurant. This is not a frequent occurrence. |
|
We go out and pickup takeout biweekly now.
It's too expensive to do food delivery for us. |
DP but I'd still consider it better to purchase prepared and frozen foods from the grocery store. |
| A fool and his money are soon parted. |
| We can go weeks without or use it several times in a weekend. I use it most during away weekends for sports tournaments when we need food at very early/late hours or delivered quick to a venue and we can’t leave to pick it up. |
| We used to do it once or twice a week but it got to expensive. Now we maybe do it once a month but try to do pick-up to avoid most of the fees. |
| Never. I cook often and we occasionally go out to a restaurant or do pick up. Ubereats seems so expensive and add that to already super inflated restaurant prices and it's just not an expense I am willing to take on. I rarely get coffee out either. I love my grind and brew coffee maker. |
| Rarely. I don’t like lukewarm food. We do takeout a lot bu I generally go get it |
| Almost never do food delivery. We do take-out that we pick-up 1-2 x per week. |
I'm not the person you quoted, but I get where you and the pp are coming from. Eating at home saves a ton and is obviously a better option. But sometimes people use delivery because they're working long hours, juggling multiple jobs, or dealing with family responsibilities. In those cases, spending a little on convenience can actually reduce stress and save time they don’t have. Life circumstances aren't one-size-fits-all; sometimes time saved is just as valuable as money saved. |
Never. The fees are insane, I can't stomach it. I do eat at neighborhood places fairly often --- a few times a week. So I'm not stingy, I just don't want to give Uber eats or door dash my money. |
| Never. If we get takeout, we pick it up and takeout/dining out is generally limited to once/week. |

Because of our schedules, we got far too comfortable ordering delivery for 2-3 meals per week! It's ridiculous how much money we threw away.
We have scaled back partly because the costs got completely out of hand. $150-$200 for a meal for 4 people. My husband and son were putting in stupid orders like milkshakes from McDonalds which is a fvie minute drive from us. And because Door Dash and Uber Eats screwed up delivery by taking way too much time and delivering food. Now we save it for when I really really can't stand to cook another meal. |
