APS School Board Race

June’s people have found this post. Welcome!

I’ll say this: June is tough, straightforward and works really hard. I can’t comment on what she’s done with AEA but she was the PTA president at my kids school and a teacher there as well as a parent. She really does care for all the kids and isn’t afraid to do hard things when it’s the right thing.

June wasn't not a teacher. She calls herself an educator but she was an Instructional Assistant. It's an important role in our schools but very different than a certified teacher.

But it is experience in the schools that you don’t get as PTA president or volunteer

I wish she ran against Miranda instead.

Haha that's so funny. APE is sooo proud that Miranda won but she had a whole army behind her and she was running against 23 year old kid. So she ran against no one and won. Stand proud APE. Just ridiculous lol.

Why? Miranda/APE would remind all the voters that June/AEA kept the schools closed even after APS staff jumped the line to get COVID shots.

Kids were back in the classroom soon after the teachers all got shots.

June wasn't the head of AEA then

June may be more APE friendly than Moe. The cellphone debates of last semester paired APE and AEA up. Makes me like Moe more.

The AEA was speaking on behalf of teachers and school-based staff during the pandemic. June would have advocated for keeping schools closed and probably did as an instructional assistant.

Same. AEA could have decided to take its position without teaming up with APE. But they did. I don't want another board member who's in APE's back pocket.

How can June run when she works for APS anyways? Is she planning to quit?

Why? Because Miranda and her horrible APE group would have lost against any real candidate. You sound like one of them. June wasn't even Pres of AEA back then. I don't know how she felt about school closings then, and I bet you don't either.

Can you say more about these posts? I missed them.

June is bitter. She used the AEA FB page to make a list of elected officials that endorsed her opponent. Calling them "non pro ecucation" and that she would update the post as needed. Yes, in her rage posting she misspelled education.

This will harm all APS staff. It's not a great look for the union to be bashing County Board and School Board members.

I went to June’s campaign website and I’m mistaken, she has a few endorsements besides her own. Nova Labor, no surprise and Chen Ling. Okayyyyyy. But Moe is cleaning up with the rest. I didn’t see her trashing Moe, but I didn’t read comments.

where do you see this? I just see Nova labor which is really just her and Patrick Hope on her website.

Anonymous wrote:Patrick Hope endorsed June too according to her campaign FB page. There's also a few random people, maybe teachers on her list. But I did find a call out Moe post. It was in bad taste, IMO. It does feel desperate.

To be fair, it’s pretty annoying that people who haven’t worked in education think they can fix it

+1

She called out Moe for skipping all the relevant meetings. She wants to lead but can’t show up?

What meetings did Moe skip?
