Mine had only 1 physical textbook last semester, but 5 this semester. She was pissed, haha. She carts around her laptop, water bottle, iPad (for notetaking), textbook or 2, sometimes her sketchbook (for art class). Backpack is crucial. Presumably OP’s daughter’s college campus will be much larger than her high school. The extra walking is often what drives the need for a backpack. |

My daughter and I both have this Lululemon backpack. It's fantastic. Elegant enough for work in the city, durable enough for campus. She's messy and it still looks great a couple of years in.
