I was you OP, had never done anything to my hair before, and started dyeing my hair in 2020 at age 43. Couldn’t let it go gray. I also look young for my age with my south Asian genes.
I use Herbatint. |
Plus it is MUCH cheaper than getting Botox! |
This. |
Gray looks worse. And people seriously go gray at 30? Didn't notice my first gray until late 40s. |
| Get a wig. Then you can look younger without ruining your bio hair. |
Late 40s and have been coloring my hair since i started going gray in college. Probably 40% gray now. I use demi-permanent color and sometimes go salon, sometimes dye at home. Once you start getting some real grays, it doesn't look like all-over color anymore because the grays don't pick it up as much. With the way my gray is distributed, it looks like I have highlights. |
It depends on the "gray". Is it white, silver, or actually gray? Not all graying heads are the same. |

In the last 1 year, I started losing my hair because of multiple reasons - menopause, hair dye (every 3 weeks), extreme stress, auto-immune diseases, lack of vitamins, lack of estrogen, scalp health, using wrong products - and basically losing my hair and having my scalp show was more devastating than my root showing. I am managing to regrow my hair and I am doing a lot of natural stuff for my hair that is working for me. One thing that I do to color my hair is use henna with a host of other herbs to strengthen it. |
It doesn’t look like highlights. It looks like faded hair dye. Especially if you are in sunlight- medium brown and darker dyed hair is super obvious and not flattering |
You seem very sure of yourself. Have you actually seen their hair? |
I don’t think so. I’m 50 and have more than a couple of grays, and I’m pretty sure I don’t look 80! |
| I’m Indian, 48. Gray hair indeed made me look at least 10 years older. I dye at home or at the salon, using root touch up kits in between. It’s annoying, but I always feel better. Immediately. Maybe treat yourself to the alone time at the salon. Or be a cheapskate like me and pay no more than $10 (usually $4-7) to use box dye at home. |

1 or 2 grays here and there - id cut it.
If you have grey areas, or noticeable greys all over, dye it. |
What color do you use? |
Right? THis doesn't make sense. I didn't have any grey hairs til I was 35ish. So you're saying I should have started coloring my naturally dark hair at 30 just..because? |
