Galapagos if you can afford it. Truly remarkable! |
Another vote for Atlanta. We did everything mentioned previously as well as a hike up Stone Mountain. |
I can’t think of any they didn’t like, but they really love/d the camping trips. Especially if there was a lake/river/beach nearby for swimming/playing. |
South Dakota - the Badlands and Custer State Park |
I’ve been but not sure I would take an under 10. They aren’t old enough to be scuba certified and the dives are somewhat challenging, but Galapagos is most incredible under water out by Wolf Island. |
+1 The hike up Stone Mountain is great fun. There's also a ropes course near the base of the tram. |
Jackson Hole was fantastic - hiking, trail rides, a float trip, rafting, fishing, all in a gorgeous landscape, under a huge sky, with no humidity! |
We loved Gatlinburg. Hiking the Great Smoky Mountains- we even saw some Bears. Dollywood is so underrated- its a great, clean theme park with beautiful views. Tons of affordable restaurants, hotels, activities- but you can make it more upscale if you want.
The also loved Chattanooga. So much to do there for a weekend with young kids. |
San Diego was hands down our kids favorite trip at that age. We went to Lego Land, the Zoo, La Jolla Cove to watch Sea Lions, Coronado Beach, etc. We walked the board walk, ate at some fun restaurants, and just enjoyed the atmosphere. We were there at Christmas time, so the holiday decorations were also really fun. |
Anywhere they can snorkel and see cool things but I think his top two were Aruba and Puerto Rico
Cruise (for all the ice cream, kids club, and the private island) Disney Paris NYC London |
Hawai’i, Lake Tahoe, and Costa Rica were the favorite trips at that age. |
Great place for kids, also seems small so not a ton of time in the car |
I love this! |
Mine loved the rock scrambles at Mohonk. |
I haven’t taken my kids, but I went to Custer state park when I was 17 and loved it so much! |
