There use to be a place in Occoquan, VA that we hosted her shower at. This was 15+ years ago. |
Every place I've checked around DC/Tysons is $85-105 pp. |
| Does the Omni or somewhere have one with a view of the blossoms? |
Our English friends refer to afternoon tea with fancy sandwiches and scones and other treats, as “cream tea”. |
The people on this thread aren't "friends" telling someone "discreetly" about anything. They're the bs who'd gossip behind her back about whatever. They're the three "friends" on White Lotus! And by the way, it's discreet, not discrete. I'm telling you that just straightforwardly. |
Um, no. High tea is what the workers installing your new kitchen break for when they are feeling peckish and need a mug of tea and a little snack. |
| High tea is smoking a doobie whilst installing the kitchen then having a cuppa. DCUM ladies just nibble an edible on the way to the tea room. |
| To me no. I really don’t enjoy the food served with high tea. |
When I know what someone means and what they are talking about—especialllly when they are asking for advice—I don’t go out of my way to act like a tahwaht and a know-it-all. If PP had actually ***answered the damn question*** in addition to clarifying, you might have a leg to stand on. |
| I don’t think it’s worth it, mostly because it’s very expensive and the food is the kind of food I don’t like to eat: white bread, scones, sugary cakes, and way too much of it. It’s really unhealthy. |
| I love it. I love tea and silly little sandwiches and desserts. I love getting dressed up with my kid and grandma to go. However, at least in dc, it is wildly expensive. Like, $100+/person for those teeny little sandwiches and teeny little desserts. It is absolutely not worth it, and yet it’s become a tradition. |
Oh I’ll add the best afternoon tea ever is in London at sketch. Very expensive but very good. Plan to take my daughter when she’s a bit older. |
| Jeez, I remember paying 10 pounds for high tea at the Ritz in London and thinking it was expensive. That was just last week I think. |
But ain't high tea just a sarnie and a cuppa Rosie Lee? |
I'm aware, but, I'm not British so I'll call it whatever I want. Thanks. |
