What to wear to Disney?

Everyone wears matching shirts. I try to match my girls. For instance they wore cotton little mermaid dresses and so did I (with shorts under). Dh wore a triton shirt.

I assure you that NOT everyone wears matching clothes. We would pay money to NOT have to do that if it came down to it.

Although matching shirts might be the way to go if you want to easily spot your kids /family in a crowd.

OP, as others have said, the key is comfortable shoes that you can wear for a long day with a lot of walking. That might be different for you, but sneakers and a pair of Birkenstocks or OkuKai sandals might be an option. My most comfortable shoes are short Birkenstock boots or my Blunnies with Birkenstock insoles — although those might be too heavy or too hot for some people. I also love my Keen sandals. Think about what you’re likely to do — in addition to walking, from activities where you might get wet or rides where your shoes might fall off. Also, if you’re buying something new, allow time to get used to wearing them before your trip.

I would probably get a pair of Keen sandals. Even if I only wore them for that one trip, it would be worth it.

Beyond that, whatever you find comfortable for a long day, and maybe layers — cotton shirt over a tank top, with a hat, sunscreen, and whatever else you’ll need for sun protection.

I wore shorts, solid t-shirt, Brooks running shoes. I had no issues walking the 10+ miles a day in those.

Just did 2 days in Disney while we were down there visiting family.

Day 1 wore jeans and a T-shirt with Birkenstocks
Day 2 wore leggings, t shirt and Sambas.

Most important thing is finding comfortable shoes.

I'm not even sure I have shoes that I'd be comfortable in walking all day. I have Hoka-type shoes, but I think even those get uncomfortable after a few hours. I also have some Oofos recovery sandals. Maybe wearing one pair in the morning, the other in the afternoon?

Yes if you can change shoes mid-day you will be more comfortable.

Try a pair of Tevas and see how far you can walk in those - or Birks.

October is still really hot in Florida - and it's still hurricane season! If you can wait till Nov you'll get things a little cooler, and lower risk of a storm. Feb is just about perfect, though.

Guess what, Madison, all your altheisure shit is quick dry. Because even skinny b_ches sweat.

Yep. This skinny bish loves her quick dry wicking lululemon. Perfect for the heat and sweating.

Florida in the spring is still grossly hot to me. If you were invited to walk 10 miles looping around Satan’s butthole, what would you wear? Wear that to Disney.

Mouse ears.

Wear mouse ears.

In April in Orlando, average high temps are low 80s and lows are low 60s. Sounds pretty awesome weather to me. We went to Disney in late November and it was cool which was pleasant for walking the park, but made going on water rides uncomfortable.

We live near Disney and go every now and then.

My iPhone clocks me typically at 20,000+ steps a day.

I always wear comfortable sneakers and not sandals. You will walk so much that your feet will be filthy, so I like closed toe.

If cool enough, I’d do leggings. If warmer, I’d find shorts or a skirt that don’t chaff. On top, I always make sure to have a shirt that both covers my shoulders and chest as much as possible to avoid sunburn. Sometimes I’ll just wear a full spf shirt. I also always wear a baseball hat for the sun. I do try and look cute, knowing that there will be pictures and I just prefer to look better than not, but it’s a tough one. Even during cooler weather, the pics by the end of the day show my face super glossy with sweat and my straight simple hair, while in a pony tail, is like a hornets nest from breeze and sweat and the hat. It just is what it is.

This is really helpful; I am fair and think I will get some SPF shirts.

Shoes are THE most important! Basically you need to dress the same way you would if you were going for a jog or hike in the summer. So pick whatever pair of shoes are the most comfortable and dress in your hot weather athletic clothes.
