I’m mean to jerks who feel the need to confidently correct people who aren’t wrong. Stop acting so GD stupid and I’ll stop being mean, ok? |
| The world turned upside down |
Doubt away. It is true. |
PP here and DH and I both may well have had enough athleticism but neither of us had the grit, dedication, determination, and perseverance that DD has. She worked her butt off and still does. DH and I were both pretty lazy. I do not recall ever once putting in any extra work in any sport outside of team practice. |
| You won’t see a college coach watching potential recruits much before 16s year, occasional 15s but mostly 16s. Let your DD develop as she matures and ask the question again in a few years. The main thing is love of the sport - there’s enough hard graft ahead of her if she goes down the college route as it is. |
Since you started relatively early, I feel like you won't need to ask the question when your DD will be 16. You will know by then. |
| Nobody recruits 8th graders fool |
| There are only two women on the MIT team 5’4” or 5’5”. One went to Deerfield, so has an easier route. I say you have no chance. |
| 5'5" no college vb for her |
MIT volleyball lolz |
Your only chance is to pay for a skills coach, a strength coach, a nutritionist, and a career manager. If you don't start now, your kid won't get recruited to play in college. This is the sad reality. |
And leg lengthening surgery |
| OP, I don’t know why people act like D1 is the only attractive college sports option. Go check out the rosters of NESCAC volleyball teams. Heights are listed and there are plenty of shorter players. With a strong academic profile there are many D3 programs that could be a great fit. |
