Don't be stupid, check out the surrounding springfield schools. Yes, MLS Next players from SYC play HS soccer.

MLS, if your are reading this.....GO look for yourself.

DS’s HS team has at least 2 players from SYC, and yes, they both suit up and play in MLS Next games.

Really- asking people to report?? Why do you care??? What exactly is the harm to anyone else (the rationale for the rule is to avoid overplaying and injury to those playing MLS Next)?

Exactly. If MLS or SYC care, they can do a quick Google search. High school rosters are posted online.

Meaningless partnerships. Kids can come from anywhere. Partnerships does mean a thing in tryouts

many play HS

No. That’s a MLSNEXT rule.

Yeas but other local MLS Next allow it so….

Go get ‘em, Karen! Demand to speak to the manager!!!!

They say no because that’s what on paper the rules are. My DS plays mlsn and also HS

Just because you doing it doesn't mean it is right.

Outside Competition/High School Participation
Primary Players that participate in Outside Competition or High School soccer without approval from MLS NEXT will result in the below fines:
1st Offense = $500 per team (minimum of 1 player non-approved participation)
2nd Offense = $750 per team (minimum of 1 player non-approved participation)
3rd Offense = $5,000 fine for the Club, regardless of the number of non-approved participants. In addition, other potential sanctions for the Club and the player, including removal from MLS NEXT.

You should use a voice synthesizer so you sound like you are on Dateline, Karen. That way no one will realize it’s you! Hahaha.

Wait, what do you call a Karen if it’s a dude? Still a Karen, right?

There are definitely MLS Next kids getting waivers based on the second criteria. I have heard that MLS Next is cracking down in the sense that they are asking for documentation to show that the waiver is appropriate (school and club have to sign). Also, some MLS Next coaches are totally fine with kids playing HS (if they get the documentation for the waiver), and others have a strict rule of no HS soccer, regardless of waiver eligibility. (I personally think it should be between the player and coach and not require a waiver at all; if the issue is risk of injury, then the individuals involved can assess).

That's interesting...but also ridiculous.

It's not going to be me, but I'd love it if someone called and reported the kids on my son's team who decided to play public high school soccer. It risks their injury, it shows a lack of dedication to the team, and is totally selfish. We all knew the rules going in and a lot of kids gave up high school to play on the team.

again not the kids who dress and actually play. There are fines unless a waiver is in place. And they dont have a waiver. So again wrong.
