Marijuana use causes psychosis

Anonymous
Students are coming to college classes reeking of a recent smoke. They are completely spaced out.

You realize this has been studied extensively, and it’s not the case. The drugs cause the psychosis. And it’s not temporary.

If smoking cigarettes turned out to be bad, why are we legalizing smoking something stronger?

Low rent losers do drugs.

No wonder my friend who uses it went nuts. Like totally not herself at all. Its been incredible to watch.

As someone who has grown marijuana for 10 years+, this thread is entirely astroturfed by people who don’t use THC.

Probably professional accounts.

You don’t need to smoke THC. You can eat it.

As for “scromiting” I’ve done that … it’s what happens when too much THC builds up in your system, after being stored in fat calls over time. It happens largely when you ingest concentrates.

It’s mostly just another name for “dry-heaving” and you can’t have any substances, food, alcohol or anything else except for trying to keep yourself hydrated. If you don’t know what’s happening, it’s scary, but it’s NOT going to kill you.

If nothing else it’s basically a forced cleanse of several days, easiest diet you’ve ever been on because you don’t even want to look at food.

No one goes “psychotic” on large doses of marijuana. What really happens is that you are largely incapacitated and can barely get up off the couch. But you process it and come out of it.

There have been no deaths EVER attributed to marijuana use unless you get into a car. Tell me that about any other drug.

Not a single active marijuana user on this whole thread who knows anything about what they’re squawking over

None of anyone’s business what anyone else does with something THAT WON’T KILL THEM

Marijuana use can have various negative effects, including impaired memory, coordination, and judgment, increasing risks for accidents and poor performance. Long-term use, especially starting young, is linked to mental health issues like anxiety, depression, and psychosis, potential IQ loss, and respiratory problems from smoking. Immediate effects can include paranoia, increased heart rate, and confusion, while heavy use can lead to addiction and withdrawal symptoms.

So everyone here just happens to know someone who suffered from marijuana- induced psychosis? How convenient.

(No, I don’t smoke/take edibles).

I am GenX. I knew three people in my youth for whom marijuana use seems to have triggered psychotic episodes from which they never fully recovered. I don’t know whether it was some sort of self-medicating connection where they were already spiraling quietly, and the use just sped it up, but something did happen. Two of them are still incapacitated, living in their parents’ basements. One is somewhat ok, working, but had to go on psychiatric drugs for life.

Why is this under adult children?

Also, a stoned populace is more easy to control in every aspect.

True. I’m very easily controlled by my pillow if I take a gummy at night 🙄🙄🙄

Yep, without fail there will be a new "weed" thread every week or two. It's probably not just one poster, but there are few posters who are VERY active when these topics pop up.

One person I know suffered from memory loss from long-term, moderate cannabis use; and another suffered from paranoid episodes brought on by intensive use, which was very difficult for his wife and kids.
