Smutty books that are well written

I can’t believe no one has mentioned Maas. Court of Thorns and Roses is very hot.

I think a lot of what folks have suggested is nothing like “literature”, but why would we want a detailed, well-written sex scene stifled by “literature.” For traditional historical romances Lisa Kleypas is an author to try. If anyone is looking for some new book boyfriends, look at Rebecca Daws.

This is OP. I love that people have given so many suggestions! My own taste runs more to contemporary (not historical). For example, Katherine Center, Annabel Monoghan, Christina Lauren. I've read all their books, so if anyone has more suggestions along those lines, I would appreciate them!

I thought the beginning was slow, but it def picks up. Fourth wing is also good for romance and I liked the story too.

Indeed, but for those that can hang in there and keep going; Court of Mist & Fury, and Court of Silver Flames (Nesta+Cassian) blow book 1 out of the water.

I like really smutty well written romance. My favorites are Minerva Spencer (the smuttiest of all) , Kresley Cole, Lisa Kleypas, Sierra Simone, Sylvia Day.

Saw a post on instagram today that made me think of this thread. DO NOT be embarrassed for reading smut. Here’s an excellent argument why.
