Costco chicken thighs and other fails

Return them. Costco has a good return policy.

We just bought the thighs and experienced the same problem. Besides the many blood spots the meat texture/color looked bad. Like they were frozen for months and just defrosted. Definitely returning.

The only meat I really get at Costco is the grass fed ground beef. I think rotisserie chickens are gross and taste like plastic and chemicals everywhere except like Peruvian restaurants. We get chicken and most of our meat from farms. We generally only eat meat 2-3 times a week. When I’ve had roasts from Costco at family members houses they have been good though.

But I love Costco! We get the name brand TP there. And lots of other stuff. I find the produce usually very good — the trick is knowing how much you can realistically eat or freeze before it goes bad. Definitely better than our grocery store for most produce items. And they are great for various imported items and high end items like fair trade coffee, nuts, etc.

I've been singing Fresh Market praise for years.

It seems like a lot of people have no clue that these are all separate stores. Each store cooks their own chickens in their own giant rotisserie oven with one of their own staff who may be well trained, or not. The preparation, seasoning, and cooking temperatures, times, etc are all subject to change. Just like everybody's favorite local store, your chicken may vary...LOL
