Tell me about the area lacrosse leagues, please.

What are the good, not too far outside of the beltway, suburban MD lacrosse leagues? I know of Next Level and Bethesda. Anything else?

In what way? Their mission is to groom top players so that they can play Division 1 lacrosse. 8 kids from their 2016 team have already committed to D1 schools. VLC merged with them to bring the Crabs' contacts and methods to the DC area, and 8 kids from the VLC 2015 team have already committed to D1 schools.

That's not overrated to me.

Crabs are not overrated. Their tryout was probably the best collection of talent I have seen at any tryout. There were kids from at least 4 states that I know of. When you are drawing from that diverse a pool, and picking one team, you will find the best players you can. Each year is different at that level and Ryan McClernan, who runs Crabs, picks the best player at each spot that comes to tryouts. For VLC it is a huge win! They receive the support of Ryan who has been doing this for 15 years + and will improve their teams dramatically over the next couple of years. VLC will become the tryout of choice over the next few years.

Another great comment. It's among the 2-3 best clubs in the country. That is not overrated.

Another pathetic comment. Get over yourself.

Crabs are not overrated. And I'm not a crabs parent. My son has played for madlax for three years, and I would say our teams, which tend to do very well, only win twenty to thirty percent of the matchups with crabs. They are good players, well coached, and do the fundamental things very well. This might be changing with FCA and others up there, but for what I can see they get he Baltimore area's best talent.

At older ages vlc is very strong. At younger ages, the crabs merger has not made a big difference....yet. I suspect it will within a few years.

I agree. My son plays for a NL club team and his team has played the crabs in tournaments. Crabs are a very strong team.

There are options. Where do you live and how old is your daughter?

Not the OP, but definitely interested in info for 3rd/4th/5th grade girls. We live in the District.

Next Level?

That club is falling apart. Maybe part of it is having to worry about keeping that facility going, but they have lost a ton of coaches and kids the past 2 years.

VLC and Blackwolf have the best HS programs. Madlax has the deepest youth program, but it's not a very good experience unless you are on their A team.
