Watching Lauren take David's abuse is triggering, man. I honestly do not understand it. He is so gross. Shades of Colleen and Matt, but much much worse. There have been multiple allusions to their not being physical, so clearly very significant issues. Why is this awfullness being dragged out?

Daniel is the one who's had some trouble dating due to small stature. I think he's handsome and 5'8" really isn't that short. Glad Lauren seems fine with it but that also may be why he seems to feel very lucky and thankful to be with her. His parents seem really wonderful, which is always a good sign!

I'd be totally fine dating a guy who's 5'8". I'm 5'4". Four inches taller than me is PLENTY.

Sure. I'm 5'8" and wouldn't love it. Have always preferred guys to be at least 5'10." It's okay to have a preference.

Taylor's mom is really difficult. I can tell she means well but so much of what she says is about HER wants and needs. It's out of bounds to put them on the spot about kids, it's an outdated mindset to talk about how her daughter needs to be taken care of 100%, and it's undermining to their adulthood to treat them like kids who she is still in charge of. Her jealousy and me-me-me-ness comes through when she talks about how it's a drawback for them to have two nice famlies in that they will compete. I know there's editing here, but it really made me bristle in a Monster-In-Law way. Maybe she is overcome with fear that her husband is ill. He seems good and I hope his health resolves and she can CHILL. In contrast, Daniel's parents seem so kind and appropriate and healthy about the ways they relate to their adult children. I thought Daniel and Taylor handled it all so well. Rooting for them (but guessing they don't make it because I have the internet).

Totally agree her mom was weird, when she was like "I wanted to be involved in your engagement!" Um, you already HAD your engagement, lady. And honestly, my dad SEEMS like he'd be a republic conservative, but if anyone asked for his permission or blessing to marry me, he'd be like "I think you should worry about HER wanting to marry you. I'm not involved here." (I raised my dad well.) So Taylor's guy going on and on at the table about begging for them to approve of him was silly IMO.

Dave is not going to man up. He is only confident when he feels he's better than the woman he's with. Lauren is a strong, confident (sexual) woman who has done nothing wrong and refuses to back down from that. He can't handle it so he's going throw excuse after excuse about "I just need to think it through" so he can ultimately not marry her. Except I hope Lauren refuses to marry him FIRST. He doesn't deserve her. He doesn't need to think this through for a week - even someone diagnosed with low IQ could make a decision about this in less time.
