What does that even mean? they think they get VERA on top of 8 months of garden leave?

“Your relative” sure 😂

Isn't the government currently funded under a continuing resolution just through March? I question the legality of the executive branch committing this funding, which is congress's job. (Although, it's certainly crazy times.)

Just had a long conversation with them this morning it cleared up a lot of questions. But it's in pretty clear language now, it was confusing before with lots of may, as deemed etc. now its just will yes no etc.

I'm taking it. I'm VERA eligible. While I don't have another job lined up, I would likely be Schedule F and RIF'd with no rights. Any paycheck I get if/when they stop it between now and Sept. is a win, as far as I"m concerned. It's something.

That will also give me time, along with my annuity when that starts in Sept., to find something else to bridge the delta between that and my full salary.

Sounds like misuse of email

No. They’ll have to fire me. I’ll be more marketable if they do anyway.

Everyone is considering. They are not saying it out loud.

Yeah, this thread reminds me of the pre-election threads saying “I don’t know anyone who is going to vote for Trump….” Yes you do, they just aren’t sharing with you because they know how you feel about them.

Pretty sure I saw OPM is letting go all probationary staff. You need to get on the alt national Park service site. They have information about this.

Has anyone seen the actual memo that was shared with OPM? The info in the alt national park service website sounds really concerning but I don’t know how to fact check it

Apparently the actual contract contains a paragraph where the government employee agrees that the deal is not enforceable in court. Can’t confirm because I have not personally seen, but worth reading carefully before signing.

I am probationary and my concern is if I take it I’ll get fired immediately and it will screw up my record. I would like to come back to fed in few years. I have already decided I am resigning.
