At the end of his remarks, Robinson made a gesture with his right hand that looked very clearly like a Nazi salute - and seemingly was intended to mimic Elon Musk. He snickered, and the audience laughed. This was at the 2025 National Pro-Life Summit. A self-described Christian man using a symbol of death to inspire people at a conference that is supposed to celebrate life.

This is exactly the kind of thing that those who were quick to point out that Musk gave a Nazi salute, were afraid of.

Yeah, sadly, this tracks for "Christianity" these days.

"Like a madman shooting firebrands and deadly arrows, so is the man who deceives his neighbor and says, “I was only joking!”"

I'm a little surprised we haven't seen much analysis on the obvious fact that there's political Christianity and spiritual Christianity now. MAGA is politically Christian and is closely aligned with white Evangelicals and conservative Catholics.

I think there is MAGA--the people who wear red hats, who have to own the libs, who go to rallies enthusiastically--and maga who support Trump but are more subdued. They still believe all or most of the lies. One is a second cousin of mine, originally a lawyer who represented poor people and part time pastor (lesser known but long standing Protestant denomination) and became a full time pastor. In retirement he is a history guide for river cruises. I knew that family except for one I talk to fairly often thru Facebook) is all Christian conservative (8 sibs) but I was very surprised to see a FB comment from him on a different 2nd cousin's page about the "20 million illegal immigrants Biden let in who are all criminals". So I guess it's not just "the policies", it's the lies they are based on.

On January 30, 2025, the license of Fr. Calvin Robinson to serve as a priest in the Anglican Catholic Church (ACC) was revoked by Archbishop Mark Haverland, Metropolitan of the Original Province of the ACC, with the consent of Bishop Patrick Fodor, the Episcopal Visitor (acting Bishop) of the ACC’s Diocese of the Midwest, in which Diocese Fr. Robinson had served for less than a year.
