Super Bowl in Philadelphia with kids?

Most bars are going to be carding and won’t allow children in the first place. You probably have to find a restaurant or hotel bar area to do this. I also vote for staying home and inviting some friends over.

Can’t go to the actual Super Bowl so thought this would be a fun way to experience it with the home crowd instead.

Absolutely not. If they do win, you could take the kids up there for the parade.

Yeah, Philadelphia sports fans are next level. When they lose, they trash the town. When they win, they trash the town. And my husband is from Philly so this isn’t some anti-Phila bias. He admits it himself. It’s no place for young children.

Host a party at home (your youngest is FOUR, for goodness sake). If the Eagles win, take them up to Philly for the parade.

Yup.

This is the only way to go. Not because it's Philly. Watching at home, with fun snacks, is the best way to watch the Super Bowl.

You really think a tired cranky four year old in a bar dealing with loud noises is going to be conducive to actually watching the game at all?

+1. We are also big Eagles fans but would not bring our kids (9 & 12) to Center City/South Philly/anywhere near there for the Super Bowl. Most of our family and friends are also Eagles fans, so I don't think they're all out-of-control drunks, but it's not a great environment for kids. Plus, I want to watch the game! GO BIRDS!!

Absolutely not! That is a horrible idea. Host a party if you want to celebrate. Nothing fun about a 4 year old up late in a different city with crazies around. It will be expensive and unpleasant. Not family friendly.

What? There will be tons of philly fans at bars here in DC! WHy wouldn't you just do that?

Are you familiar with Philly fans and crowds? It will be loud, lots of profanity, excitement/anger and intense. Why would you want that for your kids? Invite some Philly fans over and make it a fun time at home. The Super Bowl is also very long, even for sports fans.

Philly fans are in a totally different category from many other fans.

+1 A 3-year-old had facial burns from a firework last night.

OP - this is why we are considering it! Our kids have never seen a Super Bowl with our team in it. It might never happen again. Being surrounded by local fans would be amazing (IMO). Just trying to do it as safely as possible too considering we would have 3 kids with us.

It won't be amazing when your kids witness fights and puking.

No bars are going to allow children. You'll end up at the local AppleBees. Boo.

Since you seem to totally ignore what lots of people are saying, have your kids ever watched an entire football game without interruption? The Super Bowl is LONG, the halftime show is LONG for kids.

Do you mind your kids being subjected to nonstop loud profanity laced exchanges? If the Eagles win, sure, take them to the parade. But what “experience” do you think you’re trying to give them by being surrounded by loud drunk people in the name of team spirit?

You're going to take your 4 year old to a bar in Philly past 10pm? Weird, Op. Very weird.

OP just wants to hear the people saying to do it.
Go for it OP.
Remember New Orleans was just a "fun" celebration at New Years too.
