I do hear that citizenship can be revoked for serious crimes. But I don't know about speeding of parking violations. It's going to cost millions to go back decades and review everybody's citizenship applications, not to mention time. Trump and his followers will not live long enough to see the last illegal immigrant leave the US or a complete review of all naturalized citizens application files. Do they still keep applications after a few decades? There seems to be plenty of scaremongering going on, which is a shame.[/quotethey do t have to go through all of them. They can have a preselected list, or a random audit. Who knows with what Stephen miller has in mind in carrying this action piece out.

Naturalized Citizen

You should be fine but an idiot member of Congress wants to deport a natural born citizen (Rev. Budde) for her comments to trump. Don't be afraid, we are not Russia!

This is bad advice.

I do not think this is the way to go. If you get picked up you will be deported without a trial. They will ask your passport.

It makes me wonder though, if there was any sort of problem with the original applications, why were they allowed to be naturalized in the first place?

You should be ok. But don't commit any crimes, or get accused of committing any crimes, or anything like that.

alright! thank you so much, i never want to go back to russia until its a real democratic institution

But make a plan for a third country to go to. Not a solid plan just a "in case" plan. All of us should be doing this now. Not just immigrants.

I wouldn't worry about it. Trump and his people have said plenty of things which haven't happened. I'm still waiting for Hillary Clinton to be locked up. Not that I've got anything against her, but I remember this was one of Trump's promises which to date, hasn't happened, and I doubt it will. Unlike illegals immigrants, she wouldn't have been hard to locate, but she's still at liberty.

You’re good. Americans LOVE legal immigrants who love America.
Thank you!

+1 e.g. Melania’s father, who was naturalized via chain migration although he was a leader of a Communist organization in then-Yugoslavia.

Anecdote, but a friend working in a fraud division under DHS agency said that Mayorkas basically had officers looking the other way and pretending not to see fraud in a number of cases, so they were moved forward and got the rubber stamp. They are probably still ok some kind of list or with some kind of marker, at least if granted green card in the last few years.

People who have not committed crimes or fraud do not have anything to worry about. So much fear-mongering everywhere.

They will be going back through naturalization paperwork with a fine tooth comb to look for any falsehoods or lies of omission. They will absolutely start denaturalizing anyone busted for a crime (think: DUI) or previously on probation for a minor crime (think: shoplifting).

I wouldn’t even get a speeding ticket these next four years if I was in a Red state.

Really, where did you hear this? Who are these people that have the time and resources to look through all that paperwork with a fine tooth comb?

Feeling and expressing concern over Trump's aggressive moves during the 1st week of his second term is valid concern. What you are suggesting is fear mongering and it isn't helpful.

It may not be "helpful" but it's valid. He has no restraint - and there are no guardrails. If you're not afraid, it's because either you like what he's doing - and somehow think you won't suffer any negative consequences - or you're so checked out that you can't bring yourself to think about it or worry.

getting accurate information is so hard because there are so many biased sources in america, ( some less than others ) which all tell different stories, thats where my fear mongering is coming from.

Well I became naturalized back in 2001, way before Mayorkas. Before then I was a green card holder for 5 years. Am I now supposed to be worried that perhaps I made an honest mistake on my application paperwork? To be honest, as much as having to deal with immigration again would be a bother, I can't allow myself to be concerned with Trump and his policies. Whatever happens happens.

During the campaign this started as deport criminals illegal immigrants. Now it is deport all immigrants. So yes I would worry. I would also protect any assets you have. I could see any assets being confiscated by the government or being paid out to informers.

I'm sure not intentional, but you omitted the word "illegal."
