The answer about Ukraine is that Russians consider Ukraine their own land and hence majority approves this war.
If you are so unhappy raise up, Russian military is made from Russian people. They refused to fire upon their own people before, they might refuse again.
The issue with "hating" Russians is not simple in the West. We are looking at a century of dislike and promotion of dislike of Russia.
If you want the change, you need to be willing to fight for it. Why aren't Russian people fighting for it?

You are pretending as if a regular citizen in Russia or China have a lot of power.
Let alone in those countries even in America their power is limited because the public is gullible and easily manipulated by mass media and with divide and rule.
Even if you protest and change government who said you will transition into rule of law democratic government.
Look at the Arab spring and countries like Libya.

Russians have been starving and dying for centuries. I think that’s why they are such a miserable bunch.

DP
I think there is a huge misunderstanding of Russia.
Most of their citizens income and way of life is greatly improved the last decades under Putin .
There is no logical reason why US and Russia can’t come up into some kind of deal.
We have to accept this reality even if we don’t like the invasion of Ukraine.

What deal? There's no reason for Ukraine, the US or the west to make any concessions to Russia. Russia is the party responsible for this war. They could end it tomorrow by withdrawing. In exchange the US could consider lifting sanctions. But Russia should still be held to account and pay reparations to Ukraine.
