Not begrudging her for that if that’s how she wants to make her living, but the consumerism and consumption of goods nobody needs that is the hallmark of the influencer business model in general is just off putting to me.

OP here, it wasn't free content, they made money from advertisements and product placement. They just worked a little harder for it.


It was at no charge to you right? That's free. And obviously that model stopped making money for bloggers so that's why they stopped.


No one is suggesting we nationalize blogs and force bloggers to create content for us to enjoy. Just saying that we don't like it as much now. We're allowed to miss something that once existed, and doesn't anymore, even if it's understandable why it doesn't exist anymore.
