Is Epcot boring? And Disney for one night- which hotel?

I loved Epcot and found HS boring.

Really? I hated Hollywood Studios! It lacked the magic of the other resorts imo and had no tree coverage. It felt so blah.

Then you don’t like rides because it has the best ones.

Maybe my kids were too small when we went. They were 3/5. I just recall it being not super fun and lines were much longer. We did do the star wars one but other rides were insane lines. Insane lines for almost everything. I felt like we did 2-3 things. The toy story one, the star wars and singalong. Maybe I’ll give it another try.

It must have been a while ago. Standby lines are worst at Epcot now and the rides are much harder to get through Lightning Lane multipass. But in general a 4-5 year old would be able to ride everything at Hollywood except Rockin Roller Coaster. My DD rode Tower of Terror (repeatedly) at 3.5.

Epcot is fun to walk around but more adult and probably the worst for kids out of all the parks. I think Universal parks (especially the Harry Potter parts, but also love Simpsons) are the most fun generally, best ratio of rides and amazing decors. MK obviously best for little kids not into Potter yet.

Are they old enough for the rides there? someone told me to wait on their ages bc of size. Both are tallish boys.

Most of the better Universal Rides have a 48 inch height requirement. I wouldn’t go until all kids are that tall. Disney has more for the shorter kids.

I loved Epcot as a kid in the 80s but found it really boring now. A lot of the rides are dated and the countries stopped running the country pavilions so it all seems less world fair and more world market to me now. It’s also a lot of walking . Guardians is probably too scary for your younger one. Test track is closed for refurbishment. The aquarium and turtle talk are good. Soarin is good. I like HS and AK better though.

I would stay at AKL Jambo hour with bunk beds if gojng yo AK. If not, I would stay at beach club, boardwalk or yacht club so you can walk to Epcot or Hs. They are nice. Beach club has best pool but they all have nice ones.

For these ages, I would not.

I like either a Magic Kingdom/Hollywood Studios split, or Magic Kingdom/Epcot. The Toy Story stuff at HS is fun!

My kids have gone at 10, 8, &5; 7, 5, &2, and 6,4, and baby. All 3 love MK and HS. They would choose AK over Epcot. They were disappointed by the “Asian” food and there’s not a lot to do there besides GoG and Ratatouille. However, your kids might love it. I would say if it is a weekend, avoid. The number of people “drinking around the world” is annoying, and one of the reasons I don’t like Epcot - weekends seem to be full of bachelorette parties or college kids. If you decide to do MK with either Epcot or HS, I would stay either at beach/yacht club or boardwalk. It’s nice to take the boats to the park and you have to bus to MK unless you stay Contemporary/floridian/Ohana, which I don’t think are worth it.

Thanks this is SO helpful. Looking at HS/Magic Kingdom split and going to book either Yacht Club/Beach club, Poly or Riviera resort!

Epcot is amazing. It's the largest park and has something for everyone. Definitely the best park. Would not skip it.

No honestly I think that could be more fun. There's a lot more rides.

Guardians was my kids' favorite ride of all the parks. They loved Epcot.

Don't do Riviera Resort. It's honestly very boring. Beach Club doesn't make a ton of sense if you aren't doing Epcot. The main draw is that you can walk to Epcot. I'd do Polynesian. Or Art of Animation, so you get the fun of the gondola and benefit of two bathrooms.

I love the Yacht Club, which is convenient to Epcot. Get a room with a full sized balcony.

Space Mountain is at Magic Kingdom and has been since 1975.

OP, this is who you are taking advice from, FYI. They might send you to a park that doesn’t even have the ride they are remembering.

Well, OP says she is going to “Epcot and DisneyWorld,” so she doesn’t seem to know what she is talking about anyway.

You can also walk to HS. We walked from HS to boardwalk. I think it was a 15 min walk.

You don't say when you're going but the pool at Beach Club is closed thru June 2025. That's one of the main reasons to stay there.
