| Back in my single days I had a bit of a flirtation going with a guy named “Sascha”, which is a Russian nickname for Alexander. I’ll admit, it was a bit of a mental roadblock for me. I think things might have progressed further if he had been named “Jon” instead. |
That's legit, imo. |
| Yes. I wouldn't marry a Harry Beaver (a real doc in Ffx) or Rusty Nail. |

I married a POC with a very ethnic name. I love it! So unique and interesting.
Lotta racists outing themselves in the comments here lol. |
| I do not like my dh’s first name, never have and never will. I called him pet names and til this day do not call him by his actual name. |
| My friend Nimrod has been single for years. This could be why! |
| No wonder so many of you are utterly miserable if this is what matters to you. |
Well you could always, you know, not change your last name |
My kids have similar backgrounds and think 2 very common names are hilarious |
such as? |
Me too. Israeli. My kid's age. Common. Jewish name. |
I know - to the point where I almost wish I had named my kids something ethnic as a screener |

When I was a teenager, I was good friends with a kid named Sheldon. He was an athlete and not nerdy or anything. I still couldn’t date him because of his name, but I was also a dumb kid!
Wasn’t crazy about DH’s first name (beautiful last name though, was happy to take it!) but it’s not terrible either. Definitely not a showstopper. My mom has the same name as my dad’s sister which I always thought was weird but he said it was never an issue. Go figure! |
