Hamiliton freshman dorm has no AC. Child with bad allergies went elsewhere. Recruited swimmer.

Okay, but the location win is a LANDSLIDE.

Not sure I necessarily agree that location difference is a landslide. Downtown Clinton and the surrounding neighborhoods are absolutely lovely. Campus is walking distance to some really cool coffee shops, restaurants (both fine dining and casual), ice cream, cute shops, Hannaford and CVS. Both campuses are stunning. Our son was admitted to both Middlebury and Hamilton, but chose Hamilton for its economics program and pipeline to investment banking opportunities on Wall Street.

Hamilton doesn't have the representation on The Street that many elite LACs have, including Middlebury. The other schools you should be looking at if IB is the end goal include Williams, Bucknell, Amherst, and CMC.

How hot does it get there and for how long?

Is Midd up a big hill from town, like Hamilton?

I know someone who left Midd because she felt to student body was privileged to the extreme. Not sure if that is different at Hamilton. My kid liked H’s open curriculum.

Take off Bucknell and this is 100% accurate.

Middlebury much better reputation in foreign policy circles. Also, investment banking and literary world. About even for graduate and law schools.

David Solomon, chairman and CEO of Goldman Sachs, went to Hamilton.

Middlebury has a new freshman dorm under construction. The upcoming class is getting a brand new space.

Didn't say Midd is bad, but you can't say Hamilton isn't well represented when their alumni include the CEO of damn Goldman Sachs.

I’m pretty sure that they work the same as the gender neutral bathrooms in your home.
