Where do you think they are getting the guns...

Guns aren't shooting themselves. VA is #3 in gun ownership in the US yet the gun violence rate is lower than DC's rate.

I don't think anyone thinks the guns are shooting themselves.

Then why does it matter where the guns came from? The problem is the people of DC shooting others while engaged in a criminal act. Perhaps the focus should be convincing DC residents that life has value. Others have rights. Don't steal. Don't commit crimes where the targets have legal rights to carry guns aswell and will shoot back.

Yes, this. Obviously people aren't teaching their kids any morals---all life has value, respect other people's property, work for what you want (don't take it).

Considering DC has already convicted this person for firearms twice and Arlington is pretty lax on prosecution for first time offenses probably not. Now will Arlington consider the DC convictions? Maybe that might help lock this person up but doubtful.

Simple solution use a gun while committing a crime, automatic 25 years added to sentence with no possibility of parole, commutation or pardon.

Not really, most of the crime is a result of liberal DAs instituting catch and release programs with habitual criminals.

Will be interesting to see what happens in California after the fires. Money from the LA fire department was shifted to "fighting crime" that the Soros-sponsored LA District Attorney Gascon would not prosecute. Now that Gascon has been given the boot, the new DA can make sure to prosecute felons for house burglaries -- except there won't be any houses to burgle.

Perhaps the city should have spent a little less than $1.3B on the homeless and improved both the fire department and the criminal justice systems.

Why are you so antisemitic and racist? Do you think Jews control the world? Do you worry that the Republicans party has received the vast majority of its funding for the last decade from a Jewish billionaire who was dependent on China? You only seem to bring up Soros but not say Bill Ackman who removed a few Ivy League presidents(including at Harvard) for not being pro Jewish enough.

A lot of the "catch and release" is actually because "liberal DAs" who would love to put some of these criminals away can't make a case because right wing racist cops can't follow proper procedure and won't stop violating civil rights. It's not a one sided political problem or nearly as simple as you believe it to be.
