Is your husband as dorky as mine?

Somehow, this is the saddest post on the thread...

It's a bit like saying your husband's a serial killer, but "at least he gets out and meets people."

How romantic!

DH's idea of a hobby is getting another degree. He really enjoys having that alphabet soup at the end of his name. *Hot!* Thank God he looks good in glasses.

That sounds like a very expensive hobby, moneywise and timewise, and opportunity costs.

Yeah, that analogy is so accurate.

I'm the PP poster you reference above. Your analogy is asinine. I used to date a guy who knew nothing about sports. Talk about dorky! Do you have any idea how many guys play fantasy football? About 25 million.

I guess I'm the dorky one. I'm the commissioner of our fantasy football league! I actually got into it because my husband was going to be watching all the games every week anyway, and I'm very competitive, so I figured I'd try it. Six years later, I coordinate the league. Most of the people in our league are other couples and family members, so it's a lot of fun. And I've actually learned about football and players other than those on my home state's team. We are not as hard-core as men's leagues, but the trash talking and articles people write is pretty fun.

I didn't know I had so much fantasy-ball company! Yay! It is the dopiest thing EVER but it makes him happy as can be, so whatever. A nice evening of fantasy baseball followed by reruns of "Stargate" and maybe a little time online posting about the virtues of various car parts is a fairly typical evening post-kid bedtime in my house. But hey, he brings home the bacon, cooks it, washes the frying pan and still looks pretty darn cute even in those black socks and shorts, so I ain't complaining.
