Emory ED apps up over 20%

Believe it or not, some kids are at Emory because they want to be there and CHOSE to be there. For some kids it’s a teach, not a T-25 backup.

I don’t understand all the Emory bashing. It’s a good school, good size and the people I know who have gone there have had good careers. I would say the same for all the schools listed although I do think they have individual strengths and some are uniquely good in specific areas.

It’s all in response to the mom who’s consistently posting how kid at x school couldn’t possibly have gotten into Emory. All in good fun.

it is a good backup school for top 25 rejects elsewhere however

Whatever helps you cope at night. Doesn't stop the record apps they're getting.

the same reason people bash Harvard for being elitist, Stanford for admitting sports stars, UChicago for wanting students who want to challenge themselves, for BC being too Catholic, for Northeastern becoming a good school, for Michigan blending athletics with academics, for SLACs providing great opportunities, for southern schools like UGA and Florida becoming super popular, for Alabama having a fun greek culture, for UVA becoming highly rejective...people are just complainers in general. They will find something, somewhere to complain about.

Totally agree. Emory is a great school. There is at least one poster who really seems to have a grudge towards Emory. Even though the poster swears their DC was accepted, I don't believe it.

Emory mom! Can’t stop being nasty even during holiday season.

It shouldn't impact anything at all.

Where do you get data on ED apps being higher or lower?

The jumps in ED this year is largely the result of a bunch of schools going back to test required applications.

Emory is one of the better test optional schools that are at the top end of reach for a lot of people so that's where they want to buy their lottery ticket.

lolz, the only one coping is the ones thinking emory is a top destination at 40% yield despite overuse of ED.

There's a mean spirited person posting against every college in every thread nothing but emotional vitriol. Just ignore this cretin.
