why are you sharing your daughter's experience which is the opposite of OPs? Are you autistic?

Are you a jerk?

(Yes.)

I have a 19 yo son and a 14 yo daughter, my friends all have teens in different high schools in the DC area (public and private), and I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of teens I personally know who are dating.

Are you sure some couples aren't just "friend" couples? I see that a lot right now.

I actually disagree. It’s becoming quite common to date again.

My senior DS has never really dated and with one or two exceptions his guy friends don’t seem to have either. His crowd is the sport soccer/lax guys so plenty of social status and there are lots of parties and hanging out with the girls. A high school principal I know says he’s seen dating culture happen in “waves” at various schools, sometimes it seems like everyone walking around holding hands sometimes nobody is. Sorry if your daughter is feeling out of the dating loop, just a few more months and hs will be behind her and lots of new people to meet . Hang in there!

My son’s group too. Not many have GFs.

My kids are/were in private HS and the above is true for us, but in contrast all the kids in public HS in our neighborhood had BF/GFs and were/are actively dating, some very seriously.
