OP, I feel this so much. I also come from a place of horrific abuse, and I’ve made so many bad choices, but I am always welcoming, helpful kind, don’t judge, etc.

Know you’re not alone. Just keep doing the next right thing.

You are not broken, nor do you need fixing, but I’m learning that I need therapy and a good diet, routine contact with friends and regular exercise to not feel the funk. I’ve spent so many holidays crying by myself. I get it.

It’s not you, it’s not your fault, and tomorrow is a different day. We need you with us.

And if you want to feel
Better- my partner of 20 years IS having an affair. I’m sure he’s going to drop that we’re splitting first thing in the new year. I didn’t make the proper supports for myself so I’ll probably live in a basement apartment while he gets it good.

That said, at least I’ll have my peace, and knowing that I did my best. I’ve been 24/7 more or less (other than school) with the kids since Feb because he was “working”.
