But doesn't the sugar/corn syrup negate any health benefits? Seems like a better fitness direction would be club soda with lime.

I don't drink alcohol anymore but love ginger ale. Especially at night...it has little to no caffeine.

I was anticipating this question but I did not have the time to explain! At home, it's a diet gingerale after dinner with tv. I concede that there are artificial ingredients, but to me it's as good as a ginger ale, maybe better. If I were in a bar and there was no ginger ale I might do club soda and lime.
On a cold winter night when I might have had a glass or two (large) of red wine, I am totally satisfied with my diet gingerale.

I would only get ginger ale at a restaurant if it were in a can or bottle. At the restaurants where I worked, we were very regularly out of ginger ale. The go-to strategy was to fill the glass with sprite and add a splash of coke. It had the right color, and nobody ever argued about it.

I notice it’s frequently flat from the gun.

Ginger “beer” is generally always served from a fresh can, so requesting it is a way to make sure you get a really fizzy cocktail. I don’t know the difference between ginger beer and ginger ale. Maybe the beer is often a little strong ginger flavor?

Beer is actually less fizzy. Just ask your server if their ginger ale is on the gun or fresh can. If it’s on the gun, ask if they’ll run it a little bit to get the old, flat ginger ale out of the line.
