Nobody. We have Coach gifts but that's end of season, not a Christmas thing. Don't have any help at home or beauty people.

Do people give a bonus to an occupational therapist or other SpecEd therapists in private practice?

We pay out the azz for that service ($320/ session charged to insurance and then pay $160/session out-of-pocket)

Mail carrier: 10, plus a small treat
Garbage guys: 15 each, plus a small treat
Grocery delivery: I tip weekly, but may add 10 and a small treat for Christmas.

We are also "lower income" dcum at 150k a year, and don't have kids in school any longer. Would probably tip more if I made more.

You give the gift after the recommendation is written. It's hardly bribery. It's polite and accepted.

We don’t celebrate Xmas, but I know that it’s a norm to give gifts at this time of year and I want to show my appreciation in a way that is in line with general cultural norms. I want to give sane amounts to the right people. Help!

We tip DH’s barber $200, my hairstylist $300. We have three cleaning ladies that visit every other week. We tip each of them $250.

We tip the mail carrier $100. We tip each of the garbage collectors $150. We have a weekly mowing service and leaf cleanup crew of about five people and we tip each of them $300. We tip each one of our kids’ teachers $100, every DoorDasher an extra $10 per delivery throughout all of December, and the florist that makes all of our centerpieces $250.

We tip our personal trainers each $500 and the grocery store checkout clerks $20 every time we buy groceries throughout December. We tip an extra $5 for every Starbucks coffee and an extra 10% (35% total) on every restaurant meal during December. We tip our flight attendants $50 each, the pilots $100 each, and the TSA security staff $20 each when we fly over Christmas for vacation.

Most importantly, our kids leave a tip on Christmas Eve for Santa ($300) and each of his reindeer ($50 each).

I haven’t tipped a teacher since dc were in elementary school. Do you really tip high school teachers?

HS teachers (there's a fund), building staff (we live in a full-service condo), parking garage attendants, housekeeper, newspaper delivery guy, dog day care staff, guitar teacher. I also get gifts for my facialist, hair stylist, and the staff at the Pure Barre studio I attend.
